To participate in Penang MakerFest, you will need to submit an entry that tells us about yourself and your project. You can join as an individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools. Please provide a short description of what you make and what you will actually bring to Penang MakerFest. You may send us images or video for better visual review.

Here’s some suggested ideas for topics that we’re looking for:

  • Radios, Vintage Computers and Game Systems
  • Electronics
  • Electric Vehicles
  • Biology/Biotech and Chemistry Projects
  • Puppets
  • Kites
  • Bicycles and Human-Powered Machines
  • Shelter (Tents, Domes, etc.)
  • Unusual Tools or Machines
  • How to Fix Things or Take them Apart (Vacuums, Clocks, Washing Machines, etc.)

Package provided:

One booth comes with 2 tables ( 2’x4′ per table), two chairs and one 13A power point.

Non-commercial Maker

For non-commercial makerRM50 will be charged per booth. The focus of this section is primarily for college/university students and for hobbyists. Participants are prohibited to sell any commodity/products for this category. There is a competition for this category as well!

Champion : RM 500 & Certificates.
1st runner up : RM 300 & Certificates.
2nd runner up : RM 200 & Certificates.

Commercial Maker

For commercial maker, RM80 will be charged per booth. Any participant who sell something or there is any form of currency transaction happens during the event is consider as a Commercial Maker. Competition is not applicable for commercial maker booth.
